hair

so everyone knows that Nolan is obsessed with my hair.....

he has been fondling it since he was a nursing newborn babe.

he has always been so soft and gentle and i have enjoyed almost every minute of it.

it soothes him and it soothes me.

i do get sick of him coming in every (single) night to play with it but honestly, it puts us both to sleep.

my hair girl has been telling me and telling me to not let him play with my hair anymore, that he is destroying it.

i haven't listened.

i basically just had to chop all my hair off to try and start over. she talked to him about not playing with my hair and i have to, too.

my hair is now at my chin.

it's been so hard to get used to but it feels good to have some fresh hair. now if i can only stick my guns and not let him go to town like he does all day and night.

little Kason

Magz is a girly looking, fair skinned, light haired litte Kason.

i seriously laugh about it everyday!

she literally got my coloring and that is all.

ketchup

sent uncle klint off to the MTC (it was a hard goodbye but we are so proud!)

watching him say bye to the boy's was heart wrenching, especially with Nolan

wrote him a letter the day he left

Nolan had an allergic reaction to something, NO idea what

been on benedryl and steroids and it's looking much better

did a little crafting for Maggie's room, i get so bored at night

convinced that crafting for a girl is 1,000 times easier and more inspiring than crafting things for boy's

my youngest TV watcher

is this a good thing??

probably not but it's adorable!

looked very Christmas-y yesterday!

we got a tiny bit of snow in St G

not positive that i am ready for Christmas but it's coming, so here we go!

camera

kason bought me a DSLR a few years ago for Christmas and i am just now starting to figure it out!

i really didn't want this nice of a camera but Kason decided and i knew nothing about it so i had no say.

but i do love it, it has been fun to mess around with.

my beautiful and amazingly talented friend Ashley just started an online photography course to teach fools like me how to use our DSLR's the right way

i have seriously been shooting on auto since i got it and i am now catching on to shooting in manual.

it is SO hard and so confusing and there are SO many factors but i am slowly getting it.

for anyone that wants to take an easy, well explained photography class, hit up my friend!

here are some of my latest pics:

they aren't amazing and they are kind of random but I've come a long way!

now i need some kind of editing program...someday!

crafty boy

Kason doesn't love some of Griffin's interests but honestly, i think they are all great!

i love that he loves to draw pictures and tell a story to go with them, that he loves going to plays at Tuachan, that he likes and knows how to pin things on Pinterest, that he loves to craft and be creative, and that he is all about dancing and singing.

Nolan is the complete opposite. he pretty much likes none of the things Griff likes. they really couldn't be more different!

for instance: Griff has asked a million times about decorating the tree and Nolan said, "I will just watch you guy's and play the ipad."

this is a banner from Nolan's birthday:

i have all of the stuff to make one for Griff to hang above his bed but i have had zero time to get to it

he has asked me a million times to make one for him

eventually he got tired of waiting and made one by himself out of paper and a red marker

tree hunting

we had to go to several places to find the pefect tree this year

all of the places we kept going to had mostly dead trees!

discolored and brown patches scattered throughout, no thank you.

so we finally found a place where they looked perfect but they came tied up and we couldn't look before buying

the guy assured us that they were really nice trees and between 7 and 8 feet tall

perfect!

we brought it home and opened it up and it IS perfect!

our house now smells fresh and yummy and i feel my Christmas spirit starting to creep in

i will forever want to have a real tree!

i love the cool, fresh air that it creates in our home

someday we will get back to the tradition of cutting down our own tree
