Summer!

I actually really love summer and don't mind being hot and sweaty

I love the way the sun feels on my skin so much!

our activities get limited when it gets hot though and that makes me nervous

both boy's did an art camp for a week and that helped

Griff did a cartoon drawing class and Nolan took a painting class

we also have a few trips planned this summer (Panguitch Balloon Festival, Beaver Mountain and Park City for my sisters wedding)

so we should stay pretty busy I hope

in the summer we do a lot of swimming, splash pads and library time

we do spend a lot more time indoors which kind of kills me ahh!

I really, really love being out and about!

But I like to let the kids get creative indoors in the summer, even if it's messy and drives me bananas!

As a little kid, my siblings and I always played with the couch cushions, almost everyday!

Our couch is trashed so I just let them have fun

BIG ketchup

had the best mother's day with these sweet little critters

it was even better after talking to this guy (miss him!)

first sno cone of the summer

friend time

lots of library time (which we love!)

the kids have been waking up between 6 and 6:30 every day for a while now ugh. we've tried everything from keeping them up later (nope!) to blacking out their bedroom window (double nope!) so kason and I decided that if they are going to wake that early, they have to head outside for yardwork as soon as they wake and they do it! they actually like it. plus, the mornings here are still cool.

getting creative with dad's truck, water and a pipe

Griff attended Safety Town just like his Daddy did! It was two weeks of learning about safety and they got to do some pretty cool stuff!

private swim lessons. Nolan learned how to swim the VERY first day, it was shocking! Griff was a little more cautious but was swimming by the third day. He had asked me the day before he learned, how Nolan was able to swim on the first day. I told him that Nolan puts his mind to things and he then he just does it! So he decided to do the same!

we love hiking and have done a TON. it's getting a little too hot these days though, darn it.

lots of splash pad time these days! the little boy is Maggie's beloved Noah.

girlie girl

Maggie is a girly-girl and I love it

She notices pretty things and already has a "crush"

His name is Noah and he is four years old and adorable

He is my good friends little boy so we see a lot of him

She talks about him all day long saying "Oah, hugs, tiss"
"Oah, nice boy" "Oah's house? Oah's house?"

She doesn't pronounce the N in his name, it's so dang cute

Just looking at her cute, olive skinned little body and super blonde curly hair kills me

She is sweet and gentle and says "I sorry" "Please" and "You welcome"

Something happened to her ear the other day and it was ROUGH

I even jumped in the car to head to urgent care because she was inconsolable (screaming crying) and yanking at her ear so badly

It was leaking fluid (clear) and then she finally calmed down

She has been sleeping through the night since (HALLELUJAH!!) and she tells me "Ear, all better"

Either her tube fell out and let some water that was behind the tube out or the tube unblocked itself and let the fluid out, whoooooo knows

I adore this little girl so much! She has really added some pure sweetness this family

the infamous swing

Our neighbors across the street have an amazing house with an even more amazing yard

They have given us permission a long time ago to spend as much time as we want in their yard and we do!

They have chickens, ducks, mini-horses, tons of amazing grass and a really cool tire swing tied to a HUGE, gorgeous tree

We have spent a ton of time in that swing and have put all of ours kids in it as newborn babies, all swaddled up and cozy

I don't think I have ever snapped any pics of the kids in the swing until now, dang

Here they are, enjoying themselves

There is something about swinging in a tree swing

bikes

We are a very active little bunch

I cannot handle sitting around so we are always doing something

I finally got a bike (a cute little vintage cruiser from the 80's) and Griff has been riding his bike without training wheels so I was determined to get Nolan's training wheels off

We worked with him for one day at our favorite park and he did pretty good, not great, but it was a good start!

The next time we got his bike out was 2 day's later and he literally got on and rode and that was that

He is quite the little rider now!! He has officially been riding for about 3 weeks with a few minor wrecks.

Griff has been riding for a while now and Maggie books it on her little trike or wiggle car so we have a lot of fun!

We ride bikes to church every Sunday (well, I walk and carry the church bags. ha.)
