(i can tell when Griff is really happy when he smiles so big that his eyes close or turn into cute little half moons)
i think he liked the idea of them and the five candles a little more than he did the actual pancakes. probably too sweet, ick!
then we (Me, my Mom and Nolan) went to Griff's preschool where we brought treats and helped him be the birthday captain.
he requested rootbeer floats for his treat and he made this darling poster for his big day at school.
we had fun hanging out at his preschool and watching him interact with the other kids.
then that night, Griff and I headed to Red Robin for burgers and had so much fun.
we talked and laughed and had the best time!
he wore his birthday crown from school so everyone asked him if it was his birthday and he LOVED the attention. it surprised me so much! he is somewhat of an introvert.
he got a kick out of being sung to and then was amazed when the workers brought him a big 'ol sundae.
after dinner i asked him what he wanted to do and he said "Let's shop!"
i didn't hesitate and that's what we did! he was already my shopping partner earlier in the day at old navy. he is my little shopping buddy!
we had the best day but it was so weird not giving him presents or doing the whole party thing. i almost felt guilty! we did have a halloween bash a couple of day's later.
still cannot believe i have a FIVE year old. makes me sick to think about sending my little baby boy off to Kinder next year. nooooooo.

We'll be sending our kids to kinder at the same time, so we can console each other. Spencer is also my shopping buddy. It's funny, but I would rather shop with him than without him any day of the week. He keeps me grounded and going. Does that make sense?
