Griffin turned 20 months old on the 17th of this month, crazy. He is getting so big and so smart! He honestly amazes us every day. We laugh all the time and talk about the hilarious things he says and does. Here are some things I have remembered and some I have jotted down as he says them.
-Yesterday he brought me his Thomas DVD and said "Trains, watch". I am so sick of those train videos so I said, "How about Nemo" and he said back to me "How about, trains?" I was so caught off guard and I thought that was so smart of him to say that so he got to watch "trains" after all.
-When him and I are alone he likes to look at my tummy and one day he said, "Baby. See. See" and I told him that the baby wasn't ready and still needed to cook. So, the next night when he saw my belly he said "baby, cook!"
-I wasn't 100% set on the name Nolan for this little guy but as soon as Griffin said "Nolan" so perfectly and sweetly, I was SOLD.
-I often call Kason "Kaso" for short so Griffin calls him "Dado". He has also heard me call his Dad Kase so he calls him that too! His new name for Grandma is Me-ma and we all LOVE to hear him say it. He still says "Grandpa" so he hasn't decided to shorten that one up yet. *Update* As of a few days ago Grandpa is now Pe-pa!
-When we get done playing with his good friend he says, "Alek, friend" as we are leaving.
-He says "Thank you" or "Thanks" to every single thing we do for him, it amazes me how sweet he is. He will often say it about 3 times in a row.
-He can count to 4 on his own without prompts. It is hilarious to hear him just do it!
-He can say the name of all of the main colors: black, brown, yellow, orange, green, blue, red, pink and sometimes purple. But to him, everything is BLUE. We do color and number flashcards during breakfast and he does so well with it :) He also flips through his 4 wheeler magazine and finds the pink Rhino and says "Mommy, pink".
-He is still obsessed with his blue blanket so I HAVE to get one for Nolan.
Here is the site.
-He repeats every word we say and he says them perfectly, it always makes us laugh to hear him talk so big.
-He will listen in on our conversations and then add a little to them. Today we were in the car and I mentioned to Kason about going over to Grandma and Grandpa's to visit. He was sitting quietly in the back seat but was listening to every word! All of a sudden he said "Me-ma, neighhhh!" and did a horses neigh because we had just been there last night feeding the horses.
He is getting to be so much fun, I can't even believe it! He is also getting to be a TINY bit naughty so I think it's time for some light discipline. I am not a big believer in spanking so we are going to try out a book that a friend of mine has been using. I am not sure of the title but if it's a good one and it works, I will let all of you other Mommies know!
It is crazy to think I am going to do all of this fun stuff over again with another child who will most likely be so different from Griff. It is exciting, overwhelming and exhausting to think about but I am looking forward to it!
