we have a pile of things in our garage to refinish. most came from garage sales and DI. i have GOT to stop buying things because we seriously have 10 things to refinish. and i mean BIG things. like my beautiful ethan allen table and chairs. it needs to be in my dining room asap.
can't wait til my mom gets here in 14 days because we are going to sand and paint, sand and paint. oh and celebrate thanksgiving! love this holiday!! crazy excited about my mom coming early to play though.
and equally excited to see my sister, brother and my pop's.

I cannot tell you how jealous I am!! Where I live, people get out awesome antique/vintage furniture is so it's SUPER expensive. I remember buying things at DI for like 10 bucks. Here, they are like 200. Can't wait to see the finished products!!
I have a bad problem with buying fixer-upers too :)
I refinished a dining room server and hutch in August. It involved sanding, stripping and staining. The process sucked but the end result is great. I suggest a power sander and good ventilation. It's really dirty work.

i LOVE refinishing furniture. it's so hard to do with the kiddos because there is a small window of opportunity. those look so dang cute and i cant wait to see the refinished product!!!! i think we'd have a great time doing something like that together :)
