20 Months Old

Griffin turned 20 months old on the 17th of this month, crazy. He is getting so big and so smart! He honestly amazes us every day. We laugh all the time and talk about the hilarious things he says and does. Here are some things I have remembered and some I have jotted down as he says them.

-Yesterday he brought me his Thomas DVD and said "Trains, watch". I am so sick of those train videos so I said, "How about Nemo" and he said back to me "How about, trains?" I was so caught off guard and I thought that was so smart of him to say that so he got to watch "trains" after all.

-When him and I are alone he likes to look at my tummy and one day he said, "Baby. See. See" and I told him that the baby wasn't ready and still needed to cook. So, the next night when he saw my belly he said "baby, cook!"

-I wasn't 100% set on the name Nolan for this little guy but as soon as Griffin said "Nolan" so perfectly and sweetly, I was SOLD.

-I often call Kason "Kaso" for short so Griffin calls him "Dado". He has also heard me call his Dad Kase so he calls him that too! His new name for Grandma is Me-ma and we all LOVE to hear him say it. He still says "Grandpa" so he hasn't decided to shorten that one up yet. *Update* As of a few days ago Grandpa is now Pe-pa!

-When we get done playing with his good friend he says, "Alek, friend" as we are leaving.

-He says "Thank you" or "Thanks" to every single thing we do for him, it amazes me how sweet he is. He will often say it about 3 times in a row.

-He can count to 4 on his own without prompts. It is hilarious to hear him just do it!

-He can say the name of all of the main colors: black, brown, yellow, orange, green, blue, red, pink and sometimes purple. But to him, everything is BLUE. We do color and number flashcards during breakfast and he does so well with it :) He also flips through his 4 wheeler magazine and finds the pink Rhino and says "Mommy, pink".

-He is still obsessed with his blue blanket so I HAVE to get one for Nolan.
Here is the site.

-He repeats every word we say and he says them perfectly, it always makes us laugh to hear him talk so big.

-He will listen in on our conversations and then add a little to them. Today we were in the car and I mentioned to Kason about going over to Grandma and Grandpa's to visit. He was sitting quietly in the back seat but was listening to every word! All of a sudden he said "Me-ma, neighhhh!" and did a horses neigh because we had just been there last night feeding the horses.

He is getting to be so much fun, I can't even believe it! He is also getting to be a TINY bit naughty so I think it's time for some light discipline. I am not a big believer in spanking so we are going to try out a book that a friend of mine has been using. I am not sure of the title but if it's a good one and it works, I will let all of you other Mommies know!

It is crazy to think I am going to do all of this fun stuff over again with another child who will most likely be so different from Griff. It is exciting, overwhelming and exhausting to think about but I am looking forward to it!

Father's Day 2009

I just wanted to post a little blurb for Kason today so here goes! I am so glad that Kason is the daddy to my (soon to be) two boy's. He is the best Dad any kid could ask for, Griffin adores him and I am SURE little Nolan will too :) These two boy's are so lucky to have Kason as their Daddy. He is so kind and patient and let's Griff "help" with the backyard and all other house projects even though Griff is more of a bother than a help. He takes him to run "house" errands and walks him to the hardware store down the street often. They like to wander the store and eat the complimentary popcorn :) and every time we pass the hardware store Griff says "popcorn". Kason, you are the best, most loving Daddy. I am so glad that we have you and I am so thankful for all your hard work to keep this family happy and content. We love you SO much!

OB Appt :/

I knew this yucky appointment was coming and it was YUCKY! I had to do my glucose test which is no fun. I hate that nasty orange drink and I can't stand needles!! The lady actually did a great job though, I barely felt it! I passed my glucose test but my iron is low so I have to start taking iron and a vitamin C and then I have to have my iron checked again at 34 weeks, fun stuff! The baby looked great and had a heartbeat of 160 at first and then his heartbeat went down to the 150's. Now for the REALLY yucky part...my flippin' weight :( I have already gained 15 pounds!! What!? Okay I can't be that surprised...I eat soooooo bad. So so so bad. All I want is crap all the time and of course I give in. So, not to sound crazy but I am going to start watching what I eat starting Monday. My Mom is in town right now and we plan on doing a lot of yummy eating but as soon as she leaves I need to start at least watching my carbs and sugar intake. I SWEAR I am not going on a diet of any sort but I need to be a little more careful. I had initially gained 8 pounds at my last appointment a month ago but since then I have gained SEVEN. Are you serious?? I didn't start gaining like that until the last 2 months!!

On to things other than weight...I feel bad even worrying about it but I really do need to be more careful. The baby doesn't need junky greasy food or ice cream and chocolate all the time haha. Anyway, I have had 2 ultrasounds this pregnancy and both times I have measured different than my actual due date. So we ended up deciding to stick with my LMP date instead of my ultrasounds that were all over the place. So now for my REAL and TRUE due date, September 20th. There it is! NO more changes on that!!

Addie Came For A Visit!

Griffin's cousin Adelyn came for a visit this past week and they had a lot of fun together! They were really sweet to each other most of the time :) Griff was actually really sweet to her and Addie really liked having him over to play. They went for a walk to the park, went on the 4 wheeler (mostly with Maddy), went swimming and played and read lots of books together. It was a blast to see them together! Hopefully they will keep on being good pals and being so sweet to each other.

Dream Backyard In The Making

This yard is and will be a long time coming but we are finally getting started! With one active boy and another VERY active boy in the making, we need a nice, safe place for them to play. We have some great plans for this big yard we have. They will include a big garden, a patch of grass, patio with a big awning, a swing set and plenty of plants. Mind you this project will be a few years in the making! If we had lots of money we would do a pool because the yard is plenty big enough but those things are expensive! Griff has been excited about the "tractah" and dump truck that have entered the yard. Not to mention, tons of dirt and some hills to climb up!

This Is A Start

Oh boy, look what Grandma and Maddy did! I like the idea of a battery powered 4 wheeler rather than a real motorcycle. I think that can wait! He can use this thing until he is 130 pounds, wooohoooo. He doesn't need the real thing!
