Griffin (almost FIVE! say what?)

Griffin-

You are 4 going on 5. Next month actually, and I really cannot believe I have a FIVE year old (almost)!! I have way too much fun with you, you and I just click. You are totally my little helper buddy. You are so good with your little sister, it makes me super happy! She loves you just as much as you love her. You and Nolan are really good buddies. When you aren't here, Nolan has no idea what to do with himself! It's hard for him and I when you aren't around. Sometimes you guy's fight and beat on each other a little but 2 seconds later you are friends again.

You have been in preschool at Dixie College for two weeks now and you love it! I am wishing I would have put you in for 4 days a week instead of just two. You are learning a lot of new things and making new friends. I am hoping this will prepare you for Kindergarden. I don't even want to think about sending you off to "real" school.

You are such a hard worker and you love to help your Dad and Pepa with whatever job they've got. You will work no matter what, but when there is money involved, you work EXTRA hard. You kind of blow our minds sometimes with how hard and long you can work. You do not value sleep or really need it. You can hang out til all hours of the night without ever getting grumpy or crazy. You are a true night owl. We love that you can adapt and stay up late if you need to but you will not sleep in the next day. That's what makes it hard! You won't take a nap to save your life, even on the hard day's after a late night and early morning. You also refuse to ever admit you are tired. I think I have heard you utter those two words twice in your life.

You are very agile and athletic and I am hoping that you end up playing some kind of sport. I don't care what you pick but you've got to use that little body for something sporty! You can ride your bike without training wheels and have been for several months. You are also a PRO on your Razor scooter. You also love to play catch. You are very active and I hope you never slow down. Griff, we love the garbage out of you. You are such a great little leader of our family. I love that you are the big brother to Nolan and Maggie.

the haps....

tried weaning maggie because i am downright TIRED of nursing and ended up with a sweet case of mastitis. yowtch. serves me right.

so, i gave in and started nursing her again but only once a day now, soon down to zero i hope.

i DO feel a tad depressed about stopping. pretty sure i would be depressed if i stopped early or late. so here i am, depressed. bah.

it partly has to do with the fact that we are so unsure right now in the kid department.

usually, we are planning the next right now (crazy)

i am almost 32 (getting up there, pushing 40 now ha), i am pretty comfy-cozy with 3 (meaning i am GOOD with three, one more and i might have to run away and never come back) and we are still paying off medical bills from magz (can you say NICU? and ear tubes that i am pretty sure didn't work?)

so...there ya have it.

feeling a TAD bit free knowing i won't be pregnant any time soon but also feeling a TEENY bit sad at the thought of closing up shop for a while or for forever, we shall see.

as of late

i am busy being obsessed with this little girls hair.

nothing can be worse than my thin, stringy, blah hair, so seeing these curls makes me ridiculously happy!!

i am also busy just being obsessed with Magz. she totally kills me.

these boy's are fun, busy and wild and crazy, but fun

they get along so well and can be so sweet to each other but they definitely fight from time to time

honestly, i usually just let them duke it out because once they do, they are all good in the hood

yes, one of them usually ends up crying but it honestly solves the issue at hand (is that horrible of me? ha.)

and......

griff starts preschool next week and we are ALL stoked, he is good and ready

it also looks like i am not following kason to payson (ha) and just staying here in  good ol StG...boo.

one year pro pics

it was way too much fun getting these pics done!

so glad i only did a mini-session because Magz was all over the place!

these are my three faves

i LOVE the top one, that's why it's HUGE

little vacay

we finally headed up north for a little work/play/house hunting.

kason's next job in in Payson and we might head that way to be close to him while he works.

it won't be permanent and i am pretty excited at the thought of some change!

we also managed to have some fun between house hunting and kason's meeting for work.

we hit up city creek, the zoo and on our last day we went to Seven Peaks and had WAY too much fun.

the zoo was a highlight for us and it was the only place i took out my big camera.

this trip was some much needed family/daddy time!!

"real" birthday pics

This party was so fun to plan and throw.

Like I said before, a lot of my ideas didn't really work out but I am happy with what I got!

Maggie enjoyed herself, as did everyone else.

Happiest First Birthday, Magz!

Beaver Mt.

::Beaver Mountain 2012::

We had the best time at Beaver Mountain this year, as usual.

This year we went with my mother's in laws family which was a special treat for us!

We did a ton of riding, relaxing and chatting.

Maggie spent a lot of time riding in the Rhino and looking out the windows of the trailer. She was also mesmerized with all of the doggies that were there.

Griffin and Nolan rode their little yellow four wheeler like crazy and did a really good job sharing with the other kids. Nolan was always on the lookout for deer and elk. He told me one morning that he saw some bears steal the Rhino and take it for a long ride. LOL.

Griff wanted to throw the football and ride constantly. He never rested!

We really enjoyed ourselves this year. I still can't believe that this was Maggie's second time to Beaver (she was 6 weeks old the first time) and I can't believe I haven't even posted last year's trip! Crazy behind on this blog...

Kason and I love going to our spot by the lake to take a picture every year that we have been to Beaver. I still need to do a progression post!

We got engaged by Puffer Lake and after that our family lake pictures include a belly and then a baby and then a belly again and a baby...and so on.

Our spot by the lake is so special to us and we always enjoy reminiscing our engagement and seeing where we are now.
